Hi, Everyone! Five minutes after I sent my first post announcing The BodyPop Questionnaire, I received a notification saying someone had filled it out. And guess who it was? My supportive boyfriend, Sean. 💗 Whatta guy! Sean and I met on Hinge almost six years ago, and it’s been sunshine and rainbows ever since! Haha, I kid - relationships are hard! But we put in the work and I think we do pretty good! Sean’s really good company (he also has the kind of eyes that crinkle when he smiles - I mean, c’mon!), which you’ll see once you spend time with him via his answers below!

Please introduce yourself. Tell us ANYTHING you'd like, including where you're located and how you take your coffee!
Hi, I’m Sean! I live on New York City’s Upper West Side, but at the end of August, I’ll be moving to a suburb right outside of the city. I take my coffee with almond milk and two stevias.
Is there a type of clothing or specific outfit you wear that makes you feel the most comfortable in your body?
A nice sports jacket with a T-shirt underneath, jeans, and boots.
🧥 I have a jacket like this that I wear for more casual things, and I wear this one when I’m getting dressed up.
🥾 I wear sneakers like these when I want to look good but not too formal, and I wear boots similar to these when I want to look nicer.
Are there any body positive people whose messaging you like on social media? What makes them appeal to you?

I like Ryan Sheldon, too. He talks a lot about how to be comfortable in your body, regardless of size. I remember hearing him say, “The number on the scale is just the number on the scale,” and that quote has been marinating in my head ever since. (Plus, I met him once, and he was really cool...it’s awesome when you meet someone you look up to and they end up being nice!)
Is there a type of movement you enjoy - walking the dog/taking an exercise class/etc.?
I love walking. I put on a podcast and walk everywhere. I also do the elliptical, run on the treadmill, and do abs and arm exercises.
What's the difference between how you view your body now, as opposed to how you viewed it when you were younger?
I’ve always struggled with liking it. I’m liking it a little better now.
Who's your "Body Icon" - aka a celebrity you admire for or whose influenced you in how they handle body image - and why?
I liked the Smartless documentary, but was surprised by Jason Bateman's behavior around food; he shamed himself and everyone around him about everything they ate.
Honestly, my body icon is Russell Crowe. C’mon - the guy’s a badass, transforms his body for all of his roles, and no matter what his size is, he always carries himself with confidence! When I saw him in The Nice Guys, I thought, “Wow, here’s Russell Crowe standing next to Ryan Gosling - the sexiest man in the world - and he looks great!”
I also remember a few years ago when Jonah Hill asked people to stop commenting on his body. I can’t imagine having to go through weight fluctuations in public. I thought it was really cool of him to set that boundary.
What's a reality show you just can't get enough of?
Ink Master. It’s a tattoo competition show. I love it!
Bachelor in Paradise. All of the rejects from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette hang out on a beach and date each other. It’s the best!
Can you recommend a fab scripted show or a movie?

What's the latest book you've read that you couldn't put down?
I just read All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr, and it instantly became my favorite book.
I also loved The Wager, by David Grann.
Podcast recommendation, please!
The Big Picture. It’s really great if you love movies. And they do fun stuff like Oscars analysis, Top 5 lists, etc. (For example, when Twisters came out last month, they discussed the Top 5 natural disaster movies. And when The Fall Guy came out in May, they talked about the Top 5 Ryan Gosling movies.)

I agree with others who said they enjoyed a man's take on body image. Sean sounds like a keeper, too!
Love to see a mens perspective on body image! The narrative is always female in media.
