I think the complicated feelings are normal (I certainly have them every day), but I also think you should focus on the fact that you are moving more and are binge-free! Those are incredible accomplishments worth celebrating.

Thanks, Maddie! ♥ That's such a good point about focusing on the right things...I tend to focus on the WRONG ones so this is a good reminder!!!

Also! Your pop culture pieces always get me. I feel seen by what you share. I’m an 80s kid so a lot of these references speak to my soul.

Thanks for your honesty and vulnerability about this. I get that it’s easy to quit when you don’t see visible improvement. I think part of me stopped doing so much yoga because I didn’t see the same physical results as I get from running and strength training. But man the emotional benefits I get likely far outweigh the physical. Anyway, I get this 100%. I have no solutions other than I hope you find this investment important and helpful regardless of the outcome and results or weight loss. Putting time into caring for your body is the most important thing we can do for ourselves.

Ugh Linsdsey, you are SO RIGHT about the emotional benefits, and I think that's what I'm trying to pay attention to, because I do feel better physically but I also feel a little more clear-headed, and I think part of that is due to the fact that I know I'm taking care of myself as best I can in this moment! Your words and encouragement and support mean so much. 💗

I understand the feeling of disappointment and it sucks! Hope the feelings of your accomplishments are stronger 😀

That quote!!! I love it. It’s so true. And you’re not alone in those sneaky little unproductive thoughts about weight loss. Try as I do, they surface at times. Like any bad thought I acknowledge its existence and salute it as I push it away!!

YES - they come up no matter what, I think??? At least for a while and then hopefully they'll completely go away and it'll be like Ariana Grande: "Thank you, NEXT!"

You are totally human & that’s why we love you!😘 I’d wager that, that little voice is very common; I think of it like in the cartoons of our childhood where they’d portray the little angel 😇 on one shoulder & a little devil 😈 on the other. They each want to be heard & sometimes one is a little louder than the other AND we can hear them without focusing too much on what they’re saying.

Love the quote from Marilyn, how incredibly sweet & thoughtful 🥰

It’s a reminder to stop stealing joy from ourselves & appreciate this very moment in all it’s imperfect perfection 🤗

Ah, how beautiful is this comment! I think you're right about the angel and the devil...sometimes the angel is louder, sometimes the devil is. AND THE IMPERFECT PERFECTION...love it so much! (Yes, Marilyn is so thoughtful!!! ♥)
